Pauline Phyllis Riely

April 8, 1928 – Jan. 25, 2011

Pauline Phyllis Riley was born on April 8, 1928, to Frederick and Bessie Green in Kent, Ohio. She left us on Jan. 25, 2011, with her husband, Chet, at her side holding her hand.

Pauline is survived by her loving husband, Chester Riley, of Placerville; twin brother, Paul Green, and sister-in-law, Mary Green, of Placerville; son, Paul Riley, and daughter-in-law, Renee Riley, and their children, Shanon Riley and Jeffrey Riley of Camino; daughter-in-law, Barbara Riley, and her children, Robert Riley and Nicole Riley of Placerville; and one great-granddaughter, Layla Riley. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Riley.

Pauline and Chet were married on June 11, 1948, and enjoyed over 62 years of marriage together. They raised their two sons, Paul and Kevin, in El Dorado County where they enjoyed a full life. Pauline was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Her and Chet enjoyed many trips in their motor home over the years, seeing the country, hiking, and exploring the back roads in their Baja VW.

She believed the Lord was her savior. Jesus said in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”  Jesus now welcomes Pauline in his open arms, though she will truly be missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Chapel of the Pines in Placerville. Friends and family may sign a guest book and leave condolences at www.chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
