Ralph Balderston

Aug. 1, 1929 – Oct. 23, 2012

Ralph Edward Balderston passed away at home in Somerset on Oct. 23, 2012. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on Aug. 1, 1929, and was a logging contractor for 31 years. He was the first born of 15 children; seven brothers and three sisters are still living. He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Mark Edward Balderston; daughter-in-law, Vialetta Balderston; and one granddaughter, Heather Jean Speake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was an Army veteran during the Korean conflict but did not serve overseas. He was a fourth-generation El Dorado County resident. He was a very hardworking, kind and honest man and will be missed by his large and loving family and friends.

A visitation will be held for Ralph on Friday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 7 p.m.m at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville, Calif. Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. Interment will be Monday, Nov. 5, at 12:30 p.m., at the Mountain Cemetery, 90 1st Street in Sonoma, Calif.
