He was a wonderful man and great with kids. He coached me on the Ponderosa baseball team in 1992. He was very upbeat, positive and funny. He taught me a little bit about baseball but a lot about life- he will be greatly missed!

If I can get the tears to stop flowing, I could write a book about this man. He was my mentor when I worked the "Care" program at Ponderosa. He's one of the main reasons that program helped the kids on that campus... they respected him and he cared so much about them. He crossed my mind the other day and I asked friends from school of his whereabouts - I wanted share with him some of the wonderful news about students he worked with and how he helped me help them to go on to productive, happy lives. Dick was warm, funny, witty, generous, and above all - he was caring. I always told him he was meant to be an influence on me as the word "care" was in his name. His door was always open - and so was that big heart! He gave kids in this community the gift of love. It's said that the acts of this life are the destiny of the next...Dick is already hanging out with the kids in heaven and everyone is celebrating!!!! We're all gonna miss you Big Guy.
