April 15, 1939 — July 11, 2012
Richard Earle Reimel passed away on July 11, 2012, in Yuma, Ariz. He was married to Cathy (Calderone) for 51 years. They have one daughter, Michelle (Jody Hicks, Sr.) and two grandsons, Jody II and Jaime. Richard spent four years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Sacramento High School in 1957, and eventually went to work as a truck driver for Capitol Coors Beer for 16 years and then Safeway for 8 years. He retired in 1993.
Dick and Cathy lived on 4 acres in Georgetown, Calif., for 15 years after they sold their home in Sacramento in 1994. True to his love of driving, they traveled many miles in their motor homes before settling in Yuma in 2005. Dick enjoyed boating, water skiing and tennis and got his private pilot’s license and then took up model airplanes. Overall, this was a pretty good life, he thought.
Dick is also survived by his two sisters, Sue Pinaglia (Idaho)and her family and Lynn Miller (Sacramento) and her family. He will be missed by his many friends and extended family. Services will be held Friday, July 20, at 11 a.m., in Georgetown’s Pioneer Cemetery, Renke Annex. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Association.
