July 7, 1942 — July 28, 2014

Rita passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014, after a brief illness. Born and raised in San Francisco, Calif., to Fred and Rita Schumacher, she spent part of her youth in Quincy, Calif. She married Barry Batchelor in May 1964 and raised her two children, Stan and Lesley, in Mill Valley, Calif. They moved to Petaluma, Calif., for some time and eventually settled in Placerville, Calif.

Rita was always active and involved in her community and found enjoyment in being a member of the Red hat Society and the Shakespeare Club. She also enjoyed working at the Gold Bug (park or mine?), where she worked with some great people. Her spirit and creativity will be greatly missed.

Please feel free to join the family in a celebration of her life on Friday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m., at the Shakespeare Club in Placerville.
