Jan. 9, 1923 — Sept. 20, 2012
Bob passed away peacefully after a long and storied life. Born on the Big Island of Hawaii almost 90 years ago, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maybelle; son, James; daughters, Kay Tate and Lynne Johnson (Marty); brother, Kenneth; and five grandchildren, Amber, Luke, Nikki, Jeff and Kendra. He proudly served our country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force as crew chief on the China-Burma-India mission.
Bob was a salesman of all trades and a bartender with many stories. He and Maybelle enjoyed traveling in retirement, playing cribbage and his favorite hobby, golf, brought him great joy and six holes-in-one! After living in Sacramento County for 45 years he and Maybelle had recently moved to El Dorado County and for the last few months Bob was lovingly cared for by the entire staff at Eskaton Cameron Park. We deeply thank them all for their compassion and devotion to caregiving. Bob’s remains will be scattered on the Big Island that he loved so much.
