Robert C. (Bob) Edwards passed away peacefully at age 77, on Thursday, February 14, 2013 after his long battle with Alzheimer Dementia
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol of 58 years, sons, Robert Edwards, Craig Edwards (Laura) Mark Edwards (Sue), daughters, Nancy Tidwell, Carrie Sherrill (Brent), 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
Bob was raised in Placerville, CA. and worked in his parents store (Edwards Electric). He graduated from Sacramento State College and went to work for Pan American Airlines. He and Carol married in 1954 and began to raise a family. He worked at Aerojet General, Folsom, CA building Apollo, Gemini, Rockets, while working part time for Pacific Southwest Airlines, which became full time and a move to San Diego. An opportunity came to work at United Airlines and he retired from there in 2001.
Bob served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, spending most of the time in Korea. After discharge he was active in the National Guard, went to OCS (Officer Candidate School) and was in command of the Placerville National Guard.
He was a past member of the Sirs-Fremont, Alumni of El Dorado Union High School, Placerville, CA, Alumni of Kappa Sigma Kappa, Sacramento CA, and Volunteer at Centerville Presbyterian Church Kitchen, Fremont,
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, February 22, 2013 between the hours of 5 pm – 9 pm and a Funeral Service to be held February 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA, (510) 471-3363.
