Rosalie A. Hamilton passed away on April 3, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. Born Sept. 3, 1910, she had a full life. She married Alfred L. Hamilton of Camino in 1932. He preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by her sons, Alfred and Roland; three grandsons, Timothy, Roland and Paul; and a great-grandson, Trey, who turned two in February of this year. Trey is a darling little boy who lives with his mom and dad in New York City. He enjoyed his visit at Christmas with his great-grandma.
Rosalie was born in Brawley, Calif. She attended Pacific Union College, worked as a homemaker and schoolteacher and retired from teaching from Gold Oak grammar school. She and Alfred moved to Camino and then to Gold Hill, where they farmed pears and lived the rest of their lives. Son Alfred lives in Placerville and son Roland, a retired college professor, lives in Los Gatos, Calif., grandson Timothy is an attorney living in Placerville. Grandson Roland Jr. lives in New York and grandson Paul is graduating with a PhD in London.
Rosalie was a lifetime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and her personal things will be donated to the Placerville SDA Community Services at 6831 Mother Lode Drive, Placerville, CA 95667. In lieu of flowers please make a gift to Community Services. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, at 4 p.m., at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Placerville.
