Roy Stephens

Sept. 17, 1923 — Jan. 9, 2013

Roy Stephens died peacefully at home on Jan. 9, 2013, after being ill for some time. His wife preceded him in death in 2011. They had been married 37 years. He was born Sept 17, 1923, in Oakland, Calif. He was the father of two daughters, one who preceded him in death. He had two step-daughters and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roy was a man of the world who loved golfing, fine food and 5 o’clock martinis. He was a storyteller, since he had been in the merchant marines for 30 years and been around the world three times. He as a bar keeper for 14 years at the AC Flea Market in Castro Valley. He moved to Placerville 24 years ago with his wife, who was born and raised here. He loved his friends and held them very dear. We will always remember “Handsome Roy.” He was loved and will be missed deeply.
