Virginia L. Reed passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in Garden Valley, Calif. She was 80 years old. She is survived by her children, Clifford (Susie) Jorgensen, Carl Jorgensen and Claudia “DeDe” Spillers. She also leaves to cherish her memory her step-daughters, Judy (Dale) Barnard and Karen (Michael) Harris; step-son James A. (Lucy) Reed; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford R. Orr.
Virginia was born Sunday, March 5, 1933 in San Rafael, Calif., to George and Hazel Orr. After attending school in San Rafael and UC Davis she became a homemaker and farmer. On July 26, 1973, she married Eulis James Reed. Mrs. Reed was very active in the 4-H Club and Eastern Star. She was also very active in the Rio Linda, Calif., and McArthur communities.
Friends are welcome for a visitation on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m., and are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service, Friday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. Both will be held and Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd. in Sacramento, Calif.
