William “Bill” Bell passed away on Dec. 8, 2012, in Cameron Park, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of six years, Marge Bell of Cameron Park. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Della Bell. He was the loving father of Cheryll (Fred) Kent and Linda Sweet, both of Cameron Park; grandfather of Kim Snyder, Kelli Theuring, Sean Pickard, Jason Sweet, Stephenie Carr, Patti Robertson and Jenny Morris; great-grandfather of 13; and great-great-grandfather of two.
A native of Klamath Falls, Ore., Bill was 88 years old. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was Head Sawyer at Michigan-Cal Lumber Co. in Camino for 37 years and was a longtime member and builder of the Camino Community Church. He served as a Gideon for more than 40 years. He was an avid golfer, earning 10 certified hole-in-one trophies. He was a pilot and plane owner out of Placerville Airport for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., and services at 10 a.m., at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville. Interment will follow at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville. Contributions in Bill’s name may be made to the Gold Country Baptist Church Building Fund, 3800 North Shingle Springs Road, Shingle Springs, CA 95682, or Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, CA 95619 (online at snowlinehospice.org).

R.I.P. Mr Bell. Your smile, your long jokes, your friendship and your love will be greatly missed, but most certainly never forgotten. Bill often said "it's hard to kill a weed"....well Mr Bell...I'll keep spreading the seeds every time I play a round of golf with you at my side.....With Love

The planet has lost another great man. His Life and Love and Humor still influences us all! He will be missed until we see each other again on the other side. And I still know that he is on my side, thank God for that! Love and miss you Bill.
