Clinton, Rice should resign

Five days after Ambassador Christopher Stephens was killed in a planned 9/11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice was going on the Sunday talk shows saying it was a spontaneous demonstration that got out of control; it was the fault of some obscure movie trailer that came out in July. Two weeks later President Obama continued that movie trailer theme in his speech at the U.N.

James. R. Clapper, director of national intelligence, told the congressional intelligence committees “there was information that led us to assess that the attack began spontaneously following protests earlier that day at our embassy in Cairo.”

In spite of this the Obama Administration had made a secret finding within 24 hours that it was a terrorist attack, which enabled them to move money and military assets under a post-Sept. 11, 2001.

Within 24 hours the Libyan interior minister said the attacks were planned and started making arrests. In spite of that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the deaths resulted from spontaneous demonstrations against the 6-month-old YouTube video.

She has finally called them a terrorist attack, but Hillary’s change was long after the head of the Counterterrorism Center finally told Congress it was a “terror attack.”

The voters will decide Obama’s fate, but Ambassador Rice should resign for gross politicization of intelligence and outright lying to the American public for no good purpose other than the reelection of Obama and her possible appointment as secretary of state if Obama is reelected.

Secretary Clinton is negligent. Instead of doing a constant world tour, including to obscure South Pacific island countries, she should have been responding to requests to improve the security of the consulate and embassy in Libya. The two Navy SEALs killed with Ambassador Stephens at the so-called safe house weren’t even part of his security detail. According to Newt Gingrich, they were there to hunt down surface-air missiles.

And now Clinton is stonewalling Congress, claiming she must await an investigative council she set up to drag this on until the end of her term. It’s the Eric Holder method of avoiding responsibility for Operation Fast and Furious. She’s a smart lawyer. She’s in charge. It’s her job to find out why Stephens’ requests for security were ignored. And she should find out in two weeks or less. Or resign. And she should demand Rice’s resignation. That hack in charge of national intelligence, James Clapper should resign, too.

All of these people are endangering our representatives abroad by low-keying consulate security and politicizing intelligence for short-term reelection politics. It’s morally contemptible.

Hillary's term as sec of state is a mirror image of obama's term as prez. An endless world tour of pageantry and zero substance. Liberalism is all show and no go. She is a as qualified for the position as obama is for his. At least we know this administration is willing to protect big bird. He and obama have a lot in common. Empty headed puppets.

I know the left does... but I can't believe anyone would ever want Monica Lewinsky's X-boyfriend's wife to be president. If she can't manage a husband and his cigars how in the world could she ever manage our country as president or Secretary of State?

DB, "Lewinsky's ex-boyfriends wife"? Does Jennifer Flowers know of that title change? From what I hear, the only thing that ticked Hillary off was Bill didn't share...

I find it apropos that a person using a phoney name "Dink" defending the indefensible. Then listing a phoney canard like "Clinton balanced a budget". Typical. I miss the Blue Dog Democrats who were run out of their party because they weren't Socialist enough. DINK the truth is 3 weeks after our country was attacked by MUSLIM terrorist on 9-11-2001, under the Bush administration The Taliban and Al Qaeda were routed and Afghanistan fell to the might of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. 3 weeks after our Ambassador as well as 3 other fine AMERICANS were MURDERED by MUSLIM TERRORIST this administration sends an FBI investigation team to Libya. Just a subtle difference in leadership.

"The U.S. government has occupied Afghanistan for 11 years, through two administrations, Republican and Democrat. It has installed and supported a corrupt and authoritarian Islamic puppet government under Hamid Karzai. In enforcing the occupation, U.S. and NATO troops have killed thousands of innocent people, and the Obama administration has spread the war to Pakistan, where innocents are killed by remote-control drones—with Obama personally selecting the targets. The kills are always said to be of “suspected militants,” and the administration denies Pakistan’s claims that many civilians have been killed, though independent reports of such deaths abound." http://reason.com/archives/2012/09/16/deeper-in-the-afghan-quagmire

Americans have to make the decision whether a strategic presence in the area, coupled with oil access across the country and vast potential strategic materials are worth the pain, blood, lives, and drain on our treasury in continuing the mission. Given the vastness of the country and tribal society, we can never secure the country, and the mission never should have been undertaken by boots on the ground. Pull out and pass the mission to Special/Covert Operations which should have had the mission in the first place. For those who will say this is cut and run, my military experience tells me there is a time to advance, and a time to advance in the other direction.

James E.. and I think you would agree that you don't announce to the enemy a date when your gonna "cut and run". Along with that...Obama and his Administration's handling of the recent Libya incident is indefensible, inexcusable and could been avoided. At the very least, Clinton and Rice should resign.

DB Smith, whether you announce a date or plan to leave out the back door in the dark of night, the other side will know beforehand of your departure. Same as it was in Vietnam -- I could never be sure if South Vietnamese officers were VC or NVA under cover and same problem in Afghanistan. Friend or foe, who can tell for sure. So, no way we can just depart out the back door without the other side knowing.

James E.. Point taken about them knowing before hand but you sure don't tell them 2+ years out. In Vietnam they knew very well that the majority of Americans were fed with the war and wanted out. That commie winch Jane Fonda surly didn't help the situation. You don't advertise 2+ years out that your leaving.

DB: True, it's about that "unless". Here's an interesting article by Ray McGovern (I'll bet you know about him), ex-CIA analyst, that went online only hours before the Rice withdrawal. GROWING DOUBTS ABOUT SUSAN RICE @ http://consortiumnews.com/2012/12/13/growing-doubts-about-susan-rice/ ********** Look for the part (approx. 2/3 down) about Keystone XL pipeline. It would be surprising (IMHO) if Rice’s withdrawal has anything whatsoever to do with Benghazi.

Keystone is something we should be paying attention to, with or without Rice as Sec. of State. Monstrously colossal swathes of land are being taken by eminent domain. And that is just one of the problems.

Update to Benghazi Murders: 1. Petraes "CIA Chief", gone. 2. Eric Boswell, "Asst. Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security", gone. 3. Charlene Lamb "Deputy Asst. Secretary for Embassy Security", gone. 4. Un-named "Official", gone. 5. Susan Rice, "UN Ambassador" should be gone although now has no hopes of becoming Secretary of State. 6. Hilary Clinton, "Secretary of State" should be gone as all these idiots worked for her and now no hopes of becoming next President as she has called in sick to work. 7. Barack Obama "President" should be gone as the main leader of all the above. He said the buck stops with him so we'll see. Obviously on the "job training" has not worked out for America.
