Cookie — Look at Campbell’s books (Financial Times)…. Their Sales DROPPED… not enough customers…. The Unions didn’t do that….the Recession… No money…No customers….Look at the SBA’s report… TAX CUTS do not Generate hiring…. SALES do… But the $100 Million the Koch Brothers spent and the $40 Million Sheldon Adelson spent…aren’t saying that…. STOP UNIONS so they don’t have any competition!

The Teamsters union has protected the 700 employees at Campbell’s soup (where my son works) right into the unemployment line. Just like our auto industry and so many other business’s. I wish someone would help me understand how working for the public schools is comparable to working in a 1920′s coalmine.

The only way to break the cycle of overspending by the government is to eliminate the problem. Do not vote for a candidate who receives money from an entity that doesn’t support the well-being of you and your children. Problem is, there is an absence of such candidates. Rules regarding who receives the greatest funds should not dictate the next legislature.

In 1947, median family income was the equivalent of about $27,000 in today’s money. That means 50% of families made less than $27k a year, and 50% made more. In 1973, median family income was the equivalent of $54,000 in today’s money. Median income roughly doubled in just 26 years, or 2.7% per year. 34 years later, in 2007, median family income was about $67,000. Compared to 1973, that’s an increase of only about 24%, or 0.6% per year. The difference? Up through the early 1970s, our country had active, militant, worker-controlled unions, who fought for the benefits of their members, sometimes literally. (Watch the film Harlan County, USA.) Working class people were respected, and able to bring home a respectable pay. Yes, some of the union bosses became too distant from the workers and ended up corrupted by the temptations of power and wealth. But that doesn’t change the fact that unions, when they’re controlled by the workers, and only way for workers to protect their interests.

Dink, do you have any thoughts of your own or just lib talking points? Which would you say would be better for our economy from a political standpoint. Money and support from people and industries who are pro-business and pro-taxpayer or money and support from unions that are anti-business and anti-taxpayer?

Prop 32 “Paycheck Protection”
* In 98 we had Prop 226 – AFL-CIO, Teachers & others spent around $25 million to defeat.
* In 05 we had Prop 75 – AFL-CIO, Teachers & others spent around $54 million to defeat.
* In 12 we have Prop 32 – AFL-CIO, Teachers & others have spent around $29 million to try and defeat.
Man ~ what could we have done with all that dough? Education maybe? YES ON 32!

You know this is good for the taxpayers because the unions are against it. It will put an end to the money laundering scheme between the unions and the dems. When they take money from taxpayers and give it to union employees who return it to them through union dues it is the only way they can legalally get campaign contributions from those of us who don’t support them. And in return they give them unsustainable contracts at the expense of the private sector. The public sector is the next bubble to burst.
