In response to the article in the Jan. 21 Mountain Democrat, I wish to state that I am a supporter of Mr. Kevin Cairns, the chef and owner of Dante’s.
If someone was using my property as a toilet I would be very upset also. Having raised four children I know that kids can get sick at any time or any place — but the father could have taken the child inside and asked for permission to use the facilities. I am sure that Mr. Cairns would have given his permission under those circumstances.
My family and I have had dinner at Dante’s on more than one occasion and we have always had a most wonderful meal. I have recommended Dante’s to others who wish to have an exceptional experience in dining. The food is wonderful in both taste and presentation, the service is friendly and accommodating. We are not “foodies” but we do know when we are presented with a great meal.
All of our family wish Mr. Cairns and his family and staff all the best and hope that he will be able to re-open somewhere else in El Dorado County. It will be a shame to lose such a wonderful chef.
