Mr. Furniture, I am not really surprised! Coonskin, aligator, tigerskin – haha, if you don’t see an item on their shelves, my experience has been they will do their best to find and order what ya want/need.

Placerville hardware–I love that store…Ive spent some time trying to find things they dont carry. Haven’t found any items as of yet–fun place. When I first moved up here–I needed a metal pail for ashes…they had it–but I spent at least an hour just looking and asking questions…
my friend pulled me out to go shopping (in my mind I was in “shopping” haven–to each their own)

I really appreciate Pville Hardware. One of the first places I take out of towners. I have purchased many things there. They do have everything. Really enjoy their replicas of items of days gone by.

cllea, glad to hear we have something in common! Shopping at mom & pop shops is funner anyway. Been to P’ville Hardware lately? They have everything in there. Bought a supply of Mason jars there a few months ago.

Yes, “if we want to fix America, we need to take responsibility for it.” Mr. Furniture, we have a common ground!! If the 93% surveyed they would pay more and actually followed through to keep jobs in USA imagine the impact. I do not shop at Walmart or Home Depot and make every attempt to buy from ma and pa or “made in USA”. Pay a little more, receive a lot more!

I have for years looked for the “Made In USA” instead of buying garbage form China. It means not going to Walmart, and rarely to Home Depot. It means going to Placerville Hardware, Arian’s, D&D Supply, Ferguson’s, and places like that. It’s more than keeping $$ stateside and local, the junk that comes from China is disposable. Buy a water fixture at Home Depot and you’ll be replacing it in a year (or sooner). Get one made here and it may last you many years. That makes it LESS expensive in the long run. Value is not determined at the point of sale, but at the point of replacement.
