There are some items left out...the people who are still insulted that live on Pony Express, the idea that a few are shunning a new business before it arrives, and the biggest for me...is that the word "democracy" being used incorrectly. If one has five people in a room--and someone asks how many want "chocolate" ice cream to be our town flavor--and four vote yes...inside that room "chocolate" wins. But what about the other 1000 s not in the room? A small group of people are now feeling that they can decide for many--this article is so slanted. We have many in town that wont even go to these meetings--they think they are a big joke. I invite any to come. If youre bad--Santiago will stand in front of you--its a shunning thing. Shes still learning--when you talk "peace" --you cant show temper. And I like her--but I dont believe in her. Jeannie--Id rethink these articles, these articles and meetings are creating a new emotion in town--"hate"...that never existed before. The young man that came--nice gentleman...hopefully he will learn what the word "democracy" really stands for in school. This is the first time I have not brought my grandson to meetings...I do not want him near any statements saying that if someone doesnt do something--they will be made to do so. I want my grandson to grow up respecting all people, no matter if they paint or not...if they bring in a business for jobs--I want him to honor that. One last item--how come the hunters are never mentioned? We have hunters here (oh wait--i bet a group of you dont like hunting--and have decided for them as well)again if these meetings are promoting "peace"--no--global "peace"...shouldnt the individual be honored? Because I know I do not want to be the same as any one--I like being an individual. I honor a republic under the rule of law...as stated in our constitution. Which was also put down at our meetings--the facilitator did not want to listen to the person who brought this up. So does that mean we are not honoring the constitution any more either? These meetings are following Economic democracy-- which is a socioeconomic philosophy that proposes to shift decision-making power from corporate shareholders to a larger group of public stakeholders that includes workers, customers, suppliers, neighbors and the broader public. (shhhhhhhhhh this is a form of socialism.)
