No easy fix to this problem

By November 8, 2010

EDITOR: Over the last 25 years both the Republicans and Democrats followed a disastrous policy of international free trade without proper safeguards. The results have been catastrophic damage to the American economy.

Neither Democrat or Republican politicians will face this reality. The promise of creating jobs now rings from our politicians but we have given away our jobs and know-how to China, India and other cheap-labor countries.

An economy based on borrowed money, service but not manufactured goods was bound sooner or later to fail. Sure, corporate America could temporarily increase profits and goods were cheaper to buy but we “ate our seed corn.”

Both parties will not admit it but there is no easy fix to this problem. Tough times ahead. Good luck, America.
