Proposition 39 is another tax shuffle designed to raise taxes — this time on business. California is losing businesses to other states. We don’t need to pour gasoline on the fire with this complex measure whose sole aim is to squeeze more taxes out of business and give to them “energy efficiency and alternative energy projects.”
Oh, and millions would go to job training for “green jobs” and a “Clean Energy Job Creation Fund.” Just how many people does it take to put up a windmill, anyway? And how much training does it take for a general contractor or heating-AC installer to do energy retrofitting for public buildings?
This is more sham government industrial policy. It’s an expensive state effort to imitate the Obama administration’s Sovietization of the economy, which has so far been an economic dud.
Stop this billion dollar business killer. Vote no on Proposition 39.
