Rush Limbaugh makes my blood boil

By November 9, 2010

EDITOR: Listened to Rush Limbaugh yesterday while driving down to El Dorado Hills — his skill in selling snake oil to his customers is superb. I like to listen to Rush in my car because it keeps me awake as my blood pressure rises in response to his mirror reversal technique.

He was complaining that Democrats were not revealing what they plan to do.  Of course, it’s the Republicans who want to reduce the deficit by slashing government spending, but who are mum as to how they plan to do it. In the past couple of days,
Republicans on television when asked the question what programs they would cut instead go off on responses that have no connection to the simple question posed to them.

Well, one exception, Sen.-elect Paul of Kentucky said defense and Social Security.  Social Security is self-funded and has no impact on the deficit, and as for defense, good luck, Sen.-elect Paul — you will soon learn you are seated on the back bench.  But I guess in time the Republicans will announce they are reducing the deficit on the poor, the sick, the old, the young and the disabled. Come on, how else would they do it?

Oh, and Rush was big on the Democrat Party thing he loves. Democrat Party, Democrat Party, Democrat Party. Rush, try to understand, a Democrat (noun) is a member of the Democratic (adjective) Party. Ergo, Democratic Party, not Democrat Party. Democrat is a noun, Democratic is an adjective added to or grammatically related to the noun to modify or describe it.

Rush, I have too much on my plate to spend time teaching you English. Your English professor in your one year at Southeast Missouri State College would be ashamed of you.

As I am.
