I am the proud father of two soldiers serving our country. My son is in Afghanistan and my daughter leaves in approximately three weeks for her third tour in Kuwait.
Last week my daughter called and informed me her wallet was stolen with her driver’s license inside. Because she drives military vehicles she has a military driver’s license, but she must maintain a state license to make the military license valid. Problem was unless she transfered residency to Florida (where she is stationed) it would take approximately six to eight weeks to get a replacement license from California DMV and a phone number she was given to call rang busy more than a hundred times.
So she called Dad. I told her to give me a bit and I would call her back. One call to Sen. Gaines’ office and within an hour-and-a-half DMV arranged to mail it to my house, and today, four days later, I forwarded it to her.
Thank you, Senator.
