Recently the El Dorado County Sports League’s cross country championships at the fairgrounds were tremendous! Over 800 third- through eighth-grade students ran in 10 separate races, with around 2,000 parents, relatives and friends there to cheer them on. There are so many people to thank: 1. The fairgrounds administration and staff, who are so generous and helpful. 2. The Cameron Park, Mother Lode, El Dorado Hills and Placerville Lions Clubs for their donations to help us pay for the awards. Also, the Mother Lode Lions had quite a number of volunteers come out to help monitor the courses. Thank those Lions. 3. Joe Vicini Inc. and Camino and Markham schools for allowing us to use their delineators and cones for the courses. What a help. 4. The Placerville Shield volunteers who kept the traffic moving and helped manage the gate. What a relief to have them.
We all in the County Sports League send our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all these terrific people.
El Dorado County Sports League Commissioner
