Twin buses

It’s baffling how President Obama can go around the country saying Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will just take care of the rich. All the while Obama is using a Boeing jumbo jet paid by the American taxpayers and flown by Air Force officers at our expense.

And he uses that plane, Air Force 1, to fly rock stars to his political fundraisers.

That’s not the only political expense the taxpayers are picking up. Remember the Darth Vader black bus Obama used to campaign in earlier this year? Well, the taxpayers just paid for a second one. That’s $1.1 million each. This enables him to fly to one bus and cruise around a state, then come back to the airport and fly to another campaign stop in the same day where the second Darth Vader armor-plated bus is awaiting him.

Obama’s ads call Romney, who once ran Bain Capital, a “vampire.” But Romney made his money the old-fashioned way. He built a business, something Obama doesn’t believe anyone could do. And Bain Capital built a whole lot of businesses. More than that Romney’s not bleeding the taxpayers dry. He’s not trying to suck the blood out of taxpayers by raising taxes to pay for more Darth Vader buses.

Where was the editorial in the Mountain Democrat when President George W. Bush visited El Dorado County to stump for then Congressman John Doolittle? I’m sure his visit cost taxpayers some money. Baffling!

  2. reader says:

Shoe: There’s no way the M.Dem. didn’t editorialize Bush’s Nov. 2006 $2,000/plate El Dorado Hills visit. Sweeney MCd. (Not that it matters!)

  3. Shoe on the other foot says:

I should have asked- was there an editorial criticizing President Bush for his visit to our county and the spending of taxpayer money?

The Mountain Democrat surely knows that travel decisions of a President are not made by him/her but by the Secret Service. The President only decides where he wants to go and how long he will stay. After that, from planes to helicopters to cars to buses, the SS makes all the decisions, including the means by which the Prez will travel. Even how vehicles will be built, and by whom, and a special office in the WH decides if it’s U.S. business or campaign business. If it’s election business, then the campaign pays ALL the costs, either in full or a pro=rated basis. The (willful?) ignorance of the MD on such commonly known matters is staggering. Truly, it deserves to be called the Mountain Dumbocrat.
