A talented line-up to help feed the hungry

By April 21, 2011

Hamsa Belly Dance, Sol Bridge, Merrygold, Tamra Godey and Brianna Lea Pruitt are combining their talents to help the Upper Room dining hall.

On Friday, April 22, the eclectic group of entertainers will take the stage at the Cozmic Café, 594 Main St. in Placerville, to sing and dance — not for their supper but for others to enjoy supper. The fundraiser is from 7 to 11 p.m.

The Earth Day show will be a special community gathering of dance, art and music with all proceeds going to two local organic CSA farms, Momma Earth Farms and Sacred Paths Farms, so that they can deliver their produce weekly to the Upper Room to make wholesome, hot meals for those in need.

Organizers see this as a win-win situation helping local farms and helping feed the hungry.

Cost is $10 at the door.

There will also be prizes.
