Art and brew are a perfect pair

By From page B5 | April 25, 2014

Art and Brew on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. is the first pairing of local artists and local artisan beers.

At this special one-day opportunity, the free event will feature art for sale by 17 local artists who will bring their talents in fine art painting, sculpture, glass, jewelry, mosaics, pottery, petroglyph, gourds and photography to Roseville Brewing Company’s Tap Room. In addition to the many specialty beers available on tap there will also be gourmet food for purchase.

The unique partnership is proud to offer a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the art and brew to benefit the Placer SPCA’s mission to enhance the lives of companion animals and support the human-animal bond.

A raffle for an original piece of Anthony Maki Gill’s ceramic art will be held the day of the event and the winner need not be present to win. The Placer SPCA’s Pet Mobile expects to arrive with lots of adorable animals looking for forever homes.

“Come and enjoy quality art, beer, food, people and maybe a new furry friend” said event promoter, artist and animal lover Gayle Rappaport-Weiland, “while supporting a wonderful local animal organization.”

The partnership hopes to make this an annual event.

“We are bringing together our passions for art, beer and animals in one location for a great cause,” she said. “This unusual combination promises to be a unique experience that you don’t want to miss”

Art and Brew takes place at Roseville Brewing Company, 501 Derek Place in Roseville. The Art and Brew artists work can also be enjoyed and purchased at Rocklin’s Gallery iQ, 3700 Midas Ave., Suite B3, from April 26 to June 5.
