What better way to celebrate than to go shopping and a great place to shop is the St. Patrick Ladies’ Society annual rummage sale on Thursday, Aug. 2 to Saturday, Aug. 4. The 75th sale is at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Sacramento and Fiske streets in Placerville. The doors of the church hall open at 9 a.m. Shoppers can find appliances, clothing, toys, bedding and linens, jewelry and other treasures.

Perry Creek Vineyards, 7400 Perry Creek Road in Fair Play, is having its fifth annual Hunt For Zinman Party on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The celebration begins with dinner on the veranda. As the sun begins to set and the full moon rises, guests will take a tour through the vineyards and walk through the home of Zinman. Lots of sweet and happy music will ring out in a concert Sunday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. at the Federated Church, 1031 Thompson Way in Placerville, as the talents of area musicians are showcased in “Sounds Delicious! A Benefit Concert for the Food Bank.” There is no admission charge. This event is a gift to the community so that anyone may enjoy live, quality music. Donations of nonperishable food items and money for the Food Bank will be accepted. The Food Bank is a nonprofit that partners with many charities around the county.
