Fun listening

Ricky John and Johnny Dee are returning to the Wine Smith, 346 Main St. in Placerville, for two big nights of entertainment fun. “Ricky John” Jackman of Ricky and the Redstreaks and “Johnny Dee” Dengate of Chicago Tribute Authority will be performing some of their favorite music on Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30, from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the shows that offer a lot more than just songs — it is a party. Help is needed

Thousands of volunteers will be helping to clean up schools and parks in El Dorado County and throughout California on Saturday, April 30. Mormon Helping Hands will be at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, Highway 49 in Coloma, to spiff up the park. The group invites everyone to come and help from 8 a.m. to noon. The El Dorado County Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville, has a lot going on. There is the Boardgame Group that gets together on the last Saturday of every month from noon to 5 p.m. This a fun family time to play classic boardgames everyone knows or try new games and to get your game on. Oak Ridge High School Sports Booster Club is having a big fundraiser to help the athletic program at the El Dorado Hills school. The 11th annual Blue and Gold Auction and Dinner is Saturday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Hills Mercedes-Benz dealership in El Dorado Hills Town Center. There will be food, fun and music.
