On this date in 1867 Strauss’ “Blue Danube” premiered in Vienna. The beautiful waltz is a romantic courtship on the dance floor and makes for nice Valentine’s music.


Nightclub mixer

Wine and soup

The south Fair Play wineries are serving Soups of the World on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10:45 a.m to 5 p.m. Six wineries— Bechard, Chateau Routon, Golden Leaves, Mellowood, Mount Aukum and Sierra Oaks — are serving wonderful soups with wonderful wine. Besides wine tasting there will be artisan breads and snacks, with each winery’s soups. The soup ticket includes a souvenir glass, recipe booklet and a full day of fun.
