Zinfandel fans are in for a treat at Miraflores Winery, 2120 Four Springs Trail in Placerville, on Saturday, Sept. 7 starting at 2 p.m. Zap is having a fun event with Andis Wines, Cedarville Vineyard, Chatom Vineyards, Easton Wines, Lava Cap Winery, Mellowood Vineyards, Milliaire Winery, Miraflores Winery, Mount Aukum Winery, Renwood Winery, Terra d’Oro Winery, and Turley Wine Cellars pouring Sierra Foothills Zinfandel flights.
 This seminar-style tasting of  zinfandel will be led by winemakers and owners and will cover old vine zins, high elevation vineyards, and past and current vintages. Sacramento wine writer Rick Kushman will lead the panel discussion. A perfect ending for the discussion will be a South American-inspired barbecue dinner, served on the winery’s beautiful vineyard terrace. Tee time

The El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce Charity Golf Tournament is accepting reservations for the Wednesday, Sept. 19 shoot out at Apple Mountain Golf Resort in Camino. For $155 golfers get green fees, cart, range balls, closest to pin, longest drive, furthest from the pin, prizes, free beverages on the course, lunch and dinner.
