San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics fans, and many others definitely remember Oct. 17 in 1989. The Loma Prieta Earthquake shook things up and postponed the third game of the World Series. The slip along the San Andreas Fault killed 62 people, caused major damage throughout northern California and left many people homeless. Hopefully the Giants will be back in the World Series this year and only the Giants’ pitching and hitting will shake things up for the other team.
