The popular local band Uncommon Ground might break out some Hawaiian shirts at Boeger Winery’s Sunset Sippin’ on Friday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. The band will be performing originals and classic covers in the lovely outdoor area at 1709 Carson Road in Placerville. By the way, Uncommon Ground will also be playing at Mira Flores Winery, 2120 For Springs Trail in the Pleasant Valley area, on Sunday, Aug. 25 during the annual car show starting at 11 a.m.
Holly’s Hill Vineyards, 3680 Leisure Lane in Placerville, is celebrating a decade of Holly’s Hill’s Patriarche, the beautiful blend of Rhone wines. Experience Theater in the Vineyard at David Girard Vineyards, 741 Cold Springs Road in the Gold Hill area, on Saturday, Aug. 24. “Art,” a one-act play stars Graham Drake-Maurer in a dark comedy about a wanna-be art connoisseur Serge who buys a white painting with white lines. His best friend Marc is skeptical that anyone would spend money on such a piece. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain is at 7:30 p.m. No tickets are necessary. There is a suggested donation of $7. Wine by the glass, cheese and charcuterie will be available for sale. This is a PG-13 performance with some strong language.
