Auditions for ‘Deathtrap’ at Imagination Theater

By From page B10 | June 10, 2013

Imagination Theater is pleased to announce auditions for “Deathtrap” on Saturday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to noon

The theater, 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, will have call backs that afternoon after the morning auditions.

This suspenseful thriller has the right amount of thrills, chills, and laughter combine for a fantastic theater experience on all levels. Seemingly comfortably ensconced in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds.

A possible break in his fortune occurs when he receives a script from a student, a thriller which Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway hit. Sidney’s plan, which he devises with his wife, is to offer collaboration to the student, an idea the young man quickly accepts. From there the suspense mounts steadily as the plot begins to twist and turn.

“Deathtrap” is being directed by Grant Stellflug and is an ensemble of three men and two women ages 20 and older. The show is scheduled to run Sept. 6 to 29.

For additional information, go to the theater’s Website at imagination-theater.org or call 530-642-0404. or e-mail Stellflug at [email protected]
