By From page B5 | February 07, 2014

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon and there is a gift available for the readers on anyone’s list. The book “Fractured Hearts” by award-winning California author Kathryn Mattingly will pierce the heart and move the soul. It is published by Winter Goose Publishing.

Not for the faint of heart, this collection of short stories deals with every type of love that drives us to do what we do — for better or for worse. Whether whimsical ghosts in love with art or cats transformed by the full moon, you’ll wonder if even the most unbelievable is somehow true. From a gypsy child in Rome to a widow in Aruba, the stories transport you to faraway places.

Kathryn Mattingly, who resides in Folsom, will sign copies of her latest book at Face In A Book, 4359 Town Center Blvd. in El Dorado Hills, on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 4-6 p.m.

“Fractured Hearts” includes five pieces recognized nationally for excellence as outstanding literature. In honor of the holiday, decadent chocolates will be served throughout the afternoon.

More information about the book can be found on the author’s Website
