Namira Productions will be hosting Jewel of the Sierra, a two-day belly dance competition on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Placerville Shakespeare Club.

Each day begins with belly dance workshops from 10 a.m. to noon, with competition to follow from 1 to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The public is encouraged to come and enjoy the show.
Dressed in bejeweled costumes, professional and amateur dancers from all over the country will compete in a variety of categories.
The highlight of the competition is the live music category, featuring classic Egyptian music performed by Flowers of the Nile.
Jewel of the Sierra is the only belly dance competition in the U. S. to include this challenging category of live music dance.
Tickets will be sold at the door. The Placerville Shakespeare Club is located at 2940 Bedford Ave. in Placerville.
