By From page B13 | January 03, 2014

Black Irish Band colorThe Black Irish Band, America’s only Irish-Italian band making for double the fun, is having a CD release party on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. at the Sutter Creek Theater, 44 Main St. in Sutter Creek.

The band celebrates the release of its 24th CD album, “This Summer” (The songs of our youth). The band will be performing many songs from the new release as well as many standards that people know and love.

This will be a special winter evening with the group from Sonora performing songs to fill a cold winter night with much warmth.

The concert will feature original and traditional songs, Celtic and Italian music. Many of the songs are historical in nature.

The band has a large compliment of traditional maritime and railroad music, as well as ethnic tunes in the repertoire.

The talented musicians excel at Irish and Scottish, Italian and American folk music with an assortment of original songs and traditional western ballads. The bands musical style captures the spirit of the immigrants of this land, the men and women who tamed the Wild West.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 the day of show.
