Calling all Gold Trail Union District families

Registration information and forms for Gold Trail Union School District schools for the 2013-14 school year are available in school offices beginning Friday, Feb. 1.

For families new to the area, the district is nestled in the Lotus/Coloma foothills stretching from Lilyama Road (on Highway 49 between Coloma and Cool) to the north; Greenstone Country, Sundown Trail and Caswell/Cold Springs to the south; Weber Creek and Peterson Lane to the west; and the American River to the east. The preliminary deadline for registration in all grades is Friday, March 1.

Sutter’s Mill School, serving all-day transitional kindergarten through third grade is located at 4801 Luneman Road. Transitional kindergarten (ages 4 and up), kindergarten, first, second and third grade students benefit from an extremely knowledgeable and dedicated staff. Before and after school child care is located on the Sutter’s Mill campus. Enrichment classes such as karate, dance, art and map making are also offered.

Gold Trail School, serving grades four through eight, is located at 889 Cold Springs Road. All students have the opportunity to participate in the music program and are invited for various extracurricular activities such as Odyssey of the Mind, GATE and after school sports. Gold Trail School is especially rich in history because the campus is immediately adjacent to the Wakamatsu Japanese colonial site.

For ease of family planning, both schools operate with coordinating busing and school start and stop times.

Check the Website at gtusd.org or call the Sutter’s Mill School at 530-626-2591, Sutter’s Mill School Extended Day Program at 530-622-7130 and Gold Trail School at 530-626-2595 for more information.
