For many, 2013 was just another year. However, for some it was the year they got that new job or promotion they’ve been working towards, for others it was their retirement. Still others may have made the year memorable with a marriage or by having a child — the list could go on and on.
For the students of Folsom Lake College, El Dorado Center 2013 was one year closer to getting their certificate or degree and the new year is going to be yet another stepping stone on that path.
There are two very exciting possibilities when it comes to a student’s life: the spring semester will be the culmination of their first year in college and for others it will be their final semester before moving on.
Whatever the case is, we each have a story for the last year and we each have the opportunity to write a new chapter with the year to come.
As for students, this might be the year to begin your higher education or the year to transfer to another school, or even the year to graduate.
This might just be one more year on the path to accomplishing goals. As we traverse our paths through the year, we must remember that the journey matters as much as the destination. Don’t forget that you have the opportunity to make this year the best ever.
Around the El Dorado Center, the Student Activities Club is planning for a good year — not just for students — the whole community is welcome to all events.
Branch out a little more and visit the campus for “Day on the Greens” held the third Thursday of each month, the blood drive on March 20 and the Earth Day celebration April 24.
The El Dorado Center campus of Folsom Lake College is located at 6699 Campus Drive in Placerville, behind the El Dorado County Office of Education. Vendors interested in participating in events can contact Deanne Repetto at [email protected]
