Carson Valley Inn offers New Years specials

New Year’s Eve dining at the Carson Valley Inn will be a treat as the CV Steak, the Carson Valley Inn’s Nevada-style steakhouse, and Katie’s Country Kitchen, the Inn’s 24-hour restaurant, are offering their regular menus plus specials.

The New Year’s Eve specials in CV Steak are roasted prime rib of beef with shrimp scampi and seafood mix grill with half lobster tail, bacon wrapped scallops, clams and jumbo shrimp for $30.

As with all CV Steak entrées (except for the pasta dishes), these specials include vegetable and choice of au gratin, house stuffed or baked potato plus tableside-tossed salad, sour dough baguette and creamery butter. CV Steak New Year’s Eve reservations can be made by calling 775-783-6650.

CV Steak is normally open from 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday featuring an assortment of appetizers and a generous range of entrées including steaks, chops, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes.

There is also a plentiful wine list, specialty drink menu and sweet-for-all dessert menu. CV Steak offers a combination of price, selection, ambience and service that make casual dinners affordable — and special occasions memorable. CV Steak will be open on Monday and Tuesday of New Year’s week and closed on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Katie’s Country Kitchen is offering two New Year’s Eve specials served from 4 p.m. The half pound slow roasted prime rib with six fried shrimp is accompanied by double-stuffed baked potato, au jus, creamed horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon and choice of soup or house salad. The pan-seared petrale sole is served with herbed rice pilaf, garden vegetable, lemon, tartar sauce and choice of soup or salad.

Open 24 hours every day of the year, Katie’s is also the perfect spot for New Year’s Day “morning after” breakfast and lunch.

The Carson Valley Inn is located on U.S. Highway 395 in Minden, Nev.
