Carson Valley offers Christmas dinner specials

CV Steak, the Inn’s Nevada-style steakhouse and Katie’s Country Kitchen, the Carson Valley Inn’s 24-hour restaurant are offering their regular menus plus specials on Christmas Day. The Carson Valley Inn is also offering three different Christmas dinners to go.

The Inn’s Christmas roast turkey dinner to go serves eight to 10 people and includes a fully-cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, sage stuffing, giblet gravy, green beans almandine, cranberry sauce and bread and butter.

The Christmas baked ham dinner to go serves 10 to 12 people and includes a fully-cooked baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans almandine, pineapple raisin sauce and bread and butter.

The Christmas roast prime rib of beef dinner to go serves six people and includes mashed potatoes, beef au jus, creamed horseradish, green beans almandine and bread and butter.

Orders for Christmas dinners to go can be made in person at the Katie’s cashier counter or call 775-783-6664 and ask for the Katie’s supervisor. Orders may be placed anytime up to noon on Dec. 22 for Dec. 24 pickup and until noon on Dec. 23 for pickup on Dec. 25. Pick up is at the Valley Ballroom doors just inside the hotel entrance at your requested time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The turkey, ham or prime rib will be hot and the rest is cooked and will simply need re-heating per the enclosed instructions.

CV Steak is open from 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Sunday featuring a selection of appetizers and a generous range of entrees including steaks, chops, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes. All regular CV Steak entrees include tableside-tossed salad and, except for the hearty pasta dishes, also include vegetable and your choice of potato — baked, au gratin or a one-pound, twice-baked potato. CV Steak offers a combination of price, selection, ambience and service that make casual dinners affordable — and special occasions memorable.

Christmas Day specials in CV Steak include garlic-studded prime rib of beef served with choice of baked potato, garlic mashed potatoes, double stuffed potato or au gratin potatoes or grilled alderwood smoked pacific salmon with apple butter sauce and choice of au gratin, house stuffed or baked potato.

Both CV Steak Christmas Day specials include vegetable, tableside-tossed house salad and sourdough baguette with creamery butter. CV Steak opens at 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. Reservations are recommended by calling 775-783-6650.

Katie’s offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices plus appetizers, desserts and more.

Katie’s is offering two Christmas Day dinner specials from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The traditional turkey dinner is three quarter pound of roasted turkey with giblet gravy, sage stuffing, fresh mashed potatoes, glazed yams, green beans almandine and cranberry sauce.

The blackened pacific salmon with a rum butter sauce includes cranberry wild rice pilaf and fresh vegetables.

Both Katie’s Christmas Day specials include holiday soup or fresh garden green salad, fresh bread and creamery butter.
