Chili and chocolate make a great pair

By From page B4 | November 16, 2012

Come to Sierra Vista Winery, 4560 Cabernet Way in Placerville, from noon to 4 p.m.on Saturday and Sunday, Nov.17 and 18, and be prepared to test your palette with award-winning wines, chili and decadent chocolate pairings.

Local artists and vendors such as Runtenelli’s Jewelry, Iron Maiden Garden Art, Dedrick’s Cheese, and Retiredice Alpacas will be there to help shoppers get a jump-start on the holiday shopping season.

Sierra Vista will be having holiday specials on turkey-pairing wines, featuring sparkling wines, serving Barbara’s deliciously famous chili and offering chocolate pairings for $10 per guest or $5 for wine club members (4 per membership). Visitors are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots box.

To attend go to [email protected] or call 530-622-7221.

To help celebrate the holidays, Sierra Vista’s Grenache Rose will be on sale through the end of November and their new sparkling wine is now available. Sierra Vista Sparkling Wine is ideal for family gatherings. Beautiful pale straw in color, the aromas are of juicy pears, crisp apple and yeast. The delicious flavors follow with both pear and apple with almonds in the finish, similar to a dry sec style.
