Feeding Your Faith: A Year with James Alison will be offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Health Ministries Room at Federated Church, 1031 Thompson Way in Placerville.

The Tuesday sessions are at noon and the Wednesday sessions are at 7 p.m.

Adults of all faith backgrounds or no faith background are invited to come for a fresh new perspective on Christianity.

Designed for both inquisitive novices and veteran Christians wishing to rediscover the essence of their faith, this class is a journey of discovery that will open hearts and minds to learning new things about yourself and your faith.

Roman Catholic theologian, priest and author James Alison has studied, lived and worked in Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile and the United States as well as his native England. During his 14 years of preaching, lecturing and leading retreats all over the world, Alison has revolutionized the way people are introduced to Christianity.

Alison’s Christianity is not about how we are supposed to behave, but how very much we are loved by a “rambunctiously Alive One … effervescent beyond words … undoing us from bonds we scarcely knew were there, and bringing us to life.”

Alison reveals an understanding of the nature of God, and of a relationship with God, that is very different from other understandings — or rather misunderstandings — that have been perpetuated in some faith communities.

His is a Christianity of acceptance, not condemnation; of unity, not separation.

The class will be facilitated by pastor Andrew Headden.
