As the hot, lazy days of July set in, the Colfax Art Walk brings Downtown Colfax to life on Friday, July 12, from 3 to 8 p.m. with a full line up of premier artists and master artisans unveiling their latest creations.
This is a quality show you’d expect to see at a museum and it’s all free and kid-friendly along Main and Depot streets in Colfax.
The Art Walk features a variety of painting styles, ranging from plein air to Impressionism to Realism. The show also exhibits hand-thrown pottery, original design jewelry, colored pencil drawings and finely crafted wooden pieces of art.
Among the artists exhibiting for the first time in Colfax are animal painter Margot Comer at the Doggie Depot; the watercolor landscapes of Charlie Iveson at the Greek Bistro; the master artisan wooden crafts of Arnie Lund at Ammo Camo and Bait; the artistry of Phil Muscheid at Café Luna, and Impressionist paintings of Sandra DeLong at the Cider Tasting Room.
Making a return showing are Johanna Murazzo’s drawings in the artist’s lounge at Main St. Pizza and Connie Marson’s original pottery and jewelry at Marson’s, while one of Placer County’s favorite artists and art teachers, Barbara Hoffman, is the featured painter at the Creative Corner and Co-op storefront at 14 No. Main St.
