Community Gift Trees go up

By From page B5 | November 01, 2013

Community Gift Trees will be up from Tuesday, Nov. 5 to Monday, Dec. 9.

The tree is an opportunity for the community to share the gift of giving. The Community Gift Tree is a collaborative effort started in 2006 between the El Dorado County Office of Education, Child Development Program and Choices for Children.

These organizations provide early care and education services to income eligible families on the Western Slope of El Dorado County.

To help insure that all children are remembered during the holidays, community members can visit one of the Community Gift Tree locations and select a card for one or more children to purchase a child’s needs and wishes.

The gifts are then wrapped and dropped off at the El Dorado County Office of Education on Dec. 10 and 11.

Gift trees are located at: El Dorado County Library in El Dorado Hills and El Dorado Hills Raley’s, El Dorado County Library in Cameron Park and Cameron Park Bel Air, El Dorado County Library in Placerville Library, El Dorado County Court House on Main Street, Placerville Raley’s and K-Mart.

For more information call Kathy from Choices for Children at 530-676-0707 or Liz from the county office of education at 530-295-2305.
