Concert to honor peace

Cameron Park’s Spiritual Center for Positive Living, 3104 Ponte Morino in Cameron Park, is sponsoring the third annual Playing 4 Peace Concert on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 1 to 8 p.m. to honor the International Day of Peace.

The Spiritual Center is happy to announce that part of the proceeds will benefit the compassionate nonprofit organization Court Appointed Special Advocates of El Dorado County who will accept the generous donation the day of the event.

Last year’s concert was a huge success and brought the community together through music.

The seven hour Festival features five dynamic and diverse musical groups.

A Sacramento area favorite, Island of Black and White, once again join Playing 4 Peace with its unique reggae-inspired rock and blues.

Award-winning Orenda Blu (aka Emily Tessmer) blends new age and mystic styles “where the beauty of the divine feminine meets the art of devotional chanting.”

Ascension, the center’s house band, is another local favorite who will be playing for peace again this year.

There are two new entertainers to this year’s festival — Tamra Godey and Sunmonks.

There will be booths with local artisans and merchants, a delicious variety of food booths plus a kids’ area.

Bring a lawn chair and spend the day celebrating peace.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.
