The competition will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 23 on the Promenade Stage. Contestants should check in at the Promenade Stage by 12:45 p.m. There is no entry fee to compete.
Come enjoy free sweet delicious corn on the cob and participate in this iconic fair tradition.
At 5 a.m. on Monday, July 23, Roseville’s Christina Lochmiller will board the Eagle 16 in the Magical Midway and begin her quest to set a Guinness World Record for the longest ride on a Ferris wheel. The current record of 25 hours was set June 1 on Santa Monica Pier.
Lochmiller already has placed an order for some of her favorite State Fair food to be delivered to the Ferris wheel:
Breakfast – beignet and white mocha coffee
Lunch – cheese-on-a-stick and lemonade
Snack – fresh fruit and chocolate-covered bacon
Dinner – pita sandwich
Snack – chocolate-covered Key lime pie on a stick and coffee
Guinness’ rules will allow her a five-minute break each hour. Sleeping is prohibited.
Lochmiller is attempting the world record to raise money on behalf of children with congenital heart disease and the University of California, Davis Childrens Hospital.
