Placerville Flowers On Main is featuring the artwork of El Dorado High School art students for Third Saturday Art Walk on March 16.
Michelle Kite’s visual art classes will present mixed media, glass, batik and ceramic arts.
Featured in the exhibition will be pieces from the student series, “Goodbye Piano.”
The series is homage to the old piano that graced the VAPA breezeway for the last several years. Students have recycled various piano parts into some powerful mixed media creations.
Students in Bridget Bourque’s classes will exhibit mixed media, hand dyed books, monochromatic self-portraits and pen and ink drawings from 3-D and 2-D classes.
Kim Verner’s 2-D classes will present an exploration of contour and life drawing and various painting styles and techniques.
Also on exhibit will be multiple color block prints created by the advanced 2-D classes.
The students invite the public to stop by Placerville Flowers On Main, 318 Main St. in Placerville, on Saturday, March 16 between 5 and 8 p.m. to celebrate the creative work and meet the artists.
