dan FerrierEl Dorado High School will be awarding the first Dan Ferrier Memorial Scholarship in loving memory of this inspirational person.

During his high school years, he started working out with weights, which he attributed as the biggest change in his life. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1995, served two tours in the Army in the Middle East and Panama, and returned to Placerville where he was employed by several local restaurants and businesses while building up his business as a personal trainer. Conscious Evolution, the name of his business, evolved into him serving as a life/health coach to many local people, changing their lives for the better.

June Scofield, who initiated this scholarship, along with friends of Ferrier want to keep his spirit alive by honoring an El Dorado High School student with a $500 scholarship who exemplifies his transformational personal and professional achievements. Special consideration will be given to someone who has shown major improvement in their high school years.

Ferrier’s business brochure included his philosophy of life: “Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become. One must take responsibility to be in control of one’s health. It is my job to help assist and educate you in your health goals.”

There are 10 scholarship applicants and the recipient will be announced at the El Dorado High School’s annual Awards Banquet May 8.

Those wishing to honor and remember Ferrier may make a donation to River City Bank Account number 0320037991. Checks must be made out to June C. Scofield.
