Boogie Nights, the ultimate ’70s and ’80s dance party that’s taken the nation by storm, is coming to MontBleu Casino Resort and Spa (montbleu.com) to launch the re-opening of Blu Nightclub beginning Saturday, Jan. 26.

Following the raging success of Boogie Nights across the nation, creator and visionary Dave Pena is bringing the electrifying nightlife experience to Tahoe South. Stops in Atlantic City, N.J.; Baton Rouge, La. and other cities have set the stage for a classic throwback to the groovy times of Saturday Night Fever, bell bottoms, mini-skirts, open collared silk shirts, polyester, sequins, sideburns, Afros, crushed velvet and faux Travolta.

Blu Nightclub has been transformed to a retro environment of disco balls and high energy dance mixes from the ’70s and ’80s complete with funky furniture, shag carpets and vibrant colors. The new 400-square foot $30,000 light-up dance floor contains LEDs in a multitude of colors that change with the beat of the music.

Swanky VIP areas feature the Love Shack, which includes a neon pulsating heart beat on the wall, and Swingers Lounge with nightly celebrity impersonators performing Michael Jackson, Madonna, Joan Jett, Tina Turner and friends. There’s also Mr. Boogie, Roller Girl and Hula Hoop Girl plus a team of Go-Go Dancers to keep it all moving all the time.

Local talent stars in the party with MontBleu’s own Cooley Jaxson, world-famous for teaching Michael Jackson the Moonwalk — Jaxson will make regular appearances as the Michael Jackson impersonator. He is widely recognized as one of the original First Street Style Dancers to introduce break dancing in the ‘80s to crazed masses and for numerous appearances on the TV variety show, “Solid Gold.”

Tahoe’s own Jessica Broyles, choreographer and owner of Champagne Productions, will help bring the Boogie Nights experience to life. A graduate of the EDGE Performing Arts in Los Angeles, Broyles is a dancer and choreographer with the Heavenly Angels and assists MontBleu with entertainment at a variety of the resort’s special events.

Boogie Nights is a guaranteed time machine to hip, funky, slammin’ times and some of the greatest dance moves and music ever recorded. Whether it’s the celebrity performers or Blu Nightclub guests, everyone can bring it to the dance floor to embrace the vibe.

Boogie Nights, The Ultimate Dance Party is every Saturday Night at Blu Nightclub starting at 8 p.m. for persons 21 and over, with tickets at the door for $10; $5 with local ID. Admission is free when dressed in ’70s and ’80s attire. For VIP Tables and bottle service call 775-586-2000.
