From page B10 | October 15, 2012 |

Darcie Swedelson, of A Dazzling Day by Darcie, has become the first California native to receive the prestigious title of Accredited Bridal Consultant. From her early days as Founder of Slip of Elegance Chaircovers, to the conception of A Dazzling Day by Darcie, and her many years of affiliations with the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPI), the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE), Swedelson has brought more than 16 years of experience to the field of wedding planning and event design.

This latest step forward gives her, and California, one more toast to celebrate in events to come.

A Dazzling Day by Darcie (adazzlingday.com) specializes in unique, artisan weddings; while Slip of Elegance (slipofelegance.com) offers beautiful custom sewn chaircovers and sashes for any wedding or themed event throughout the Sacramento Valley and the El Dorado and Amador foothills regions.

Hhaving received numerous awards and recognition with AfWPI (including Most Distinguished Business and Volunteer of the Year 2006, President’s Award 2007 and 2009, and Wedding Professional of the Year 2009) and NACE Affiliate of the Year in 2006, Darcie has proven herself as one of the top event professionals Northern California has to offer.

The biggest part of her job is, “Spending time and creative energy with newly engaged couples planning their big day. It’s inspiring, magical and very personal. I am always very honored when asked to be part of a wedding” she said.

“I’ve been a member and leader of the association’s [AfWPI] mixers and annual awards event for over 15 years. This involvement has taught me a lot about details, presentation and coordination, from both the bride’s point of view and the professional’s view … helping to maximize my experience,” she added.

Swedelson is ready to put some dazzle in your day, whether you have a small event in a remote villa in the hills, or a grand gala in a hotel ballroom.
