Diamond Springs artists celebrate arrival of spring

The Diamond Springs Art Association’s Spring Art Show and Sale closes Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m. The art has been on display at the El Dorado County Government Center, Building B, 360 Fair Lane in Placerville.

Show judge Judy Fratus selected Carol Lundquist’s painting “Big Wave” as Best of Show.

The theme wall winners are: Joyce Becker, first place; Carol Lundquist, second place; Vi Kersgard, third place; and Darlene Young, fourth place.

The floral winners are: Lee Holderman, first place; Valerie Johnson, second place; Miyoki Naiman, third place; and  Joyce Becker, fourth place.

The landscape winners are: Mary Renison, first place; Peggy Buckner, second place; Vi Kersgard, third place; and Joan Miller, fourth place.

The seascape winners are: Carol Lundquist, first place; Valerie Johnson, second place; Millie Stressinger, third place; and Joyce Becker, fourth place.

The life winners are: Joyce Oliver, first place; Diane Hooper, second place; Diane Hooper, third place; and Bonnie Valentine, fourth place.

The people winners are: Marilyn Callaway, first place; Joyce Oliver, second place; Kathleen Buhlert, third place; and Darlene Young, fourth place.

The other category winners are: Joan Miller, first place; Susana McDonald, second place; Vi Kersgard, third place; and Sue Lyons, fourth place.

The association members invite people to come and enjoy the show and to vote for the “People’s Choice Award.”

There will be a free drawing for a painting by local award-winning artist Jerri Dreese.

The show is free.

The Diamond Springs Art Association is an organization of active seniors who love art and enjoy sharing their paintings.
