Disney princess fairytales joins the audience in a regal festivity as Disney On Ice presents “Dare to Dream,” Feb. 13 to 18 at Sleep Train Arena, One Sports Parkway in Sacramento.
The show is filled with surprises, grand set pieces and royal attendance by current princesses from “Tangled,” “The Princess and the Frog,” as well as a beloved classic beauty, Cinderella.
This contemporary skating production, put on by a cast of world-class skaters, illustrates stories about adventure, romance and humor, bringing unforgettable moments to life.
According to Costume Designer Ivan Ingermann, “We start off in New Orleans during the jazz age, where you have flappers, banjo players and all kinds of street folk, so it really sets the tone for the rest of the show. It’s a big, wild, outrageous street party. Then, we get into Rapunzel’s world, which is more of a fairytale magic land. There, you get rich textures and romantic silhouettes because it’s a fantasy.”
Disney’s Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen and the Frog share their tale with romance and humor while Rapunzel, her companions Flynn and Maximus the horse, embark on an epic adventure. Finally, the story of Cinderella comes alive again as she meets her Prince Charming with a glass slipper fit for a fantasy come true.
“This show is different from anything we’ve ever done, and we’re excited about all the exhilarating aspects we’ve included in our newest production,” said Producer Juliette Feld.
“This is the first show to tell the full story of “The Princess and the Frog” and it also marks the first time Rapunzel is featured on the ice with her tremendous amount of hair,” Feld said.
Especially suited for kids and adults of all ages, Disney On Ice presents “Dare to Dream” musical journey transforms into a world where anything is possible.
